Upstairs - Open Plan Living
The light and airy open plan first floor comprises three distinct areas: a simple dining area, a lounge area and a very well-equipped kitchen area with centre island. The whole open plan area is light and airy with a large gallery window overlooking the private courtyard garden, our private car park, and Charlestown Road.
For families with toddler children there is a heavy duty, removable Lindam wooden stair gate available for use that can be easily fixed in place at the top of the stairs. We normally remove this gate for the convenience of other guests, so if needed, please ask for this to be installed ready for use, prior to your arrival. With child safety in mind all window blinds have safety cords and casement window openings are restricted with permanent safety locks so that they can be opened for ventilation, but not far enough for a toddler to squeeze through.
The dining area comprises a large wooden table and four comfortable high back dining chairs. The kitchen is well stocked with all the crockery, cutlery and utensils you are likely to need. There is an electric fan oven, ceramic hob, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, The centre island also houses a built-in fridge and separate freezer. The centre island can also double as breakfast using the two high stools. There is a fan assisted cooker hood and filter above the hob and added ventilation provided via a Velux window above the kitchen area.
The lounge area has two double sofas, a coffee table, sideboard and TV, The TV is connected to a Free Sat satellite box and a Chromecast unit for streaming your own App based media channels such as Netflix, Now TV, Prime TV, BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, My5, All4, and many others. Using the Chromecast unit means that your streaming media subscriptions and logins stay on your device and cannot be inadvertently left logged in on the TV for others to use after your departure. The lounge also houses the broadband hub providing a strong Wi-Fi signal and fast broadband connections.
Downstairs Double and Twin Bedrooms and Bathroom
The downstairs bedrooms are large and roomy and for flexibility are set up as 1 x King-size double with bedside units, wardrobe and chest of drawers and the other as a twin single bed room with wardrobe and drawers. There is a hairdryer with diffuser, an iron stored in the cupboard in the twin bedroom and a folding ironing board stored alongside the wardrobe for use by guests.
The bathroom has a hand basin with mirror and shelves, a WC and a bath/shower. The bath mixer tap is fully thermostatically controlled and a sliding shower head is fixed on the wall with a folding glass panel shower screen for use when showering. The hot water supply is fed from a combi boiler so shower water pressure and temperature are always very good.
Our inclusive prices include all freshly laundered bed linen (sheet, duvet, pillow cases) and a bath towel, hand towel and face flannel per occupant for use within the cottage, together with tea towels and hand towels in the kitchen area. For guests staying for two weeks a change of linens is provided and collected on the middle weekend. Full details are provided in our welcome pack.
Garden Access
Access to our private courtyard garden is via a wooden gate at the side of Pebbledrift Cottage. The garden is furnished with two wipe clean sun loungers, a raffia style table and four chairs with footstools that store neatly under the table. There is also a bench seat with storage for the seat cushions used on other chairs. A 2m parasol and stand are also provided for protection and shade when dining al fresco.
There is a pull-out washing line and clothes prop available in the garden for drying beach towels and costumes as required.
Car Parking
Pebbledrift Cottage shares a private car park with 6 other cottages. Each property has a clearly marked reserved parking space allocated to it. There are no spare/unallocated parking spaces. If you need parking for an extra car there are available on road spaces in Charlestown Road or a Public (pay) off road car park at the roundabout at the bottom of Charlestown Road before the harbour. Be careful not to park on yellow lines or restricted areas as enforcement officers regularly patrol the area.
