Walking
The South West Coastal Path walk passes through Charlestown via the cliff paths. There are other local walking routes to explore directly from Pebbledrift Cottage on foot, or via a short bus or car journey. The free iWalk Cornwall mobile phone app also details many interesting circular walks (with maps).
Houses, Gardens and Museums
The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a short drive away, as are the towns of Mevagissey, Fowey and St Mawes from where you can go mackerel fishing, catch a ferry or take a short boat excursion.
Bodmin Gaol and the Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway are also worth a visit. There are also several National Trust houses and gardens in the vicinity which are well worth a visit such as: Lanhydrock House, Trerice, Trelissick.

Water Sports including Surfing, Paddleboarding and Sailing
In the summer months many coastal towns hold an annual regatta. The Charlestown Regatta is normally held in late July. There is a sailing club at Porthpean, the next village along and, of course there is no shortage of beautiful beaches all within a short driving distance.
Golf
Golfers are very well catered in the local area - Carlyon Bay golf club, Porthpean golf club, and St Austell golf club are all just a few minutes away.
